Your pet's exam will be tailored to their age, health and your concerns.  All exams are
performed by the doctor.  Preventative health measures are discussed as well as
behavior issues.  Our appointments are generally alloted 30 minutes to make sure we
have enough time to cover everything necessary for a thorough exam and consultation.

Puppy and kitten exams will cover disease prevention, neutering surgery information,
parasite prevention, behavior, house training and any other questions/concerns you
may have.  Vaccinations are usually started at this time.  Vaccination programs are
individualized to your pets needs.

Yearly exams are recommended for all pets. Your dog and cat ages between 5 and 7
years for every calender year that passes.

Routine health screenings available include
Intestinal parasite detection
Heartworm testing (both dog and cat)
Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis disease and Ehrlichia disease testing
Feline leukemia and feline aids testing
Skin parasite testing (fleas, ticks, mites, lice)
Ear cytology
Urinalysis

As your pet ages we recommend more detailed health screenings including blood
chemistries and blood counts to monitor body organ function and twice a year
examinations.  This is to help in the early detection of diseases that we commonly see
with advancing age in our pets or anything else we may detect at the time of exam and
with advanced diagnostics.

Presurgical exams are performed to increase the safety of your pet under anesthesia.
Heart and lung function is assessed.  Organ testing may be indicated to ensure the
body organs that will be processing the anesthetic drugs are functioning normally.

Behavior exams include extensive history taking, evaluation of the behavior and
determination if there is an underlying organic cause to the problem.
Recommendations for changes in the household, training techniques, behaver
modifying medications, and other environmental changes are made.

Breeding exams include semen collection and analysis.  Hormone testing, heat
detection and pregnancy diagnosis.

Referrals for very advanced care are usually made to the closest facilities available.
